1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using BonMotz, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform. Simple as that.

2. What BonMotz Provides

BonMotz is a French language learning platform covering CEFR levels A1 through B2. We provide structured lessons, exercises, vocabulary practice, writing feedback, and TEF/TEFAQ exam preparation tools. We do our best to deliver a high-quality learning experience, but we don't guarantee specific exam results or fluency outcomes.

3. Your Account

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
• One account per person — don't share or transfer your account
• Provide accurate information when you sign up

4. Free & Paid Tiers

BonMotz offers a free tier (A1.1 level) that remains free forever. The paid tier unlocks the full A1–B2 curriculum, including unlimited practice, TEF/TEFAQ exam simulations, and all exercises.

• Payments are processed securely through Stripe
• Subscription pricing and billing cycle are displayed at checkout
• You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period

5. Refund Policy

If you're unhappy with BonMotz within the first 14 days of a new subscription, contact us for a full refund. After 14 days, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. We want you to be satisfied — reach out and we'll work something out.

AI-powered features: Certain features within BonMotz use AI services that incur costs on a per-use basis. Credits or usage consumed through these features are non-refundable, as the underlying costs are incurred at the time of use and cannot be reversed.

6. Acceptable Use

BonMotz is built with the genuine intention of helping you succeed in your French learning journey. In return, we ask that you use the platform in good faith and with common sense. Specifically, do not:

• Scrape, copy, or redistribute our lesson content
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Interfere with the platform's operation or security
• Use automated tools to interact with the platform
• Share your account credentials with others

7. AI Features & Fair Use

BonMotz includes AI-powered tools designed to support your learning. These features consume resources on a per-use basis. You agree not to:

• Exploit, manipulate, or circumvent the AI usage model to obtain credits, responses, or functionality beyond what is intended
• Use AI features for purposes unrelated to French language learning
• Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or repurpose AI-generated content at scale

Abuse of AI features — including but not limited to manipulating consumption limits, automated extraction of AI responses, or using the platform in bad faith — constitutes a material breach of these terms. We reserve the right to suspend or permanently deactivate your account and pursue any applicable remedies, including recovery of costs incurred as a result of such misuse.

8. Our Content

All lessons, exercises, audio, illustrations, and other content on BonMotz are owned by us or our licensors. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use the content for your own learning. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content from the platform.

9. Your Content

When you submit writing exercises or other content through BonMotz, you retain ownership. You grant us permission to use your submissions to provide feedback and improve the platform. We won't publish your submissions publicly without your consent.

10. Availability

We aim for high availability but can't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience outages. We'll do our best to communicate any planned downtime in advance.

11. Account Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If we terminate your account due to a policy violation, refunds are at our discretion.

12. Limitation of Liability

BonMotz is a learning tool, not a guaranteed path to exam success. We provide resources and structure, but your results depend on your effort and circumstances. We are not liable for exam failures, immigration delays, or other consequences related to your language proficiency.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as BonMotz evolves. If we make meaningful changes, we'll notify you via email or in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
